Agreement and prices
The initial discussion and initial estimate are free. Before paid work, we’ll agree on the deliverables, content, revisions, schedule, build price, hosting plan, usage limits, outside costs and this policy in writing. Email is fine. No charge or scope increase is accepted by silence. New work and extra fees need approval before work starts. Mandatory customer rights still apply.
Quotes list build/integration and hosting amounts separately, including in a first-year bundle. At the starting prices, the $150 Static Starter bundle is $100 build plus $50 first-year Static Hosting; the $450 Business bundle is $300 build plus $150 first-year Managed Hosting. These are first-year hosting discounts. Standard renewals are $100/year Static Hosting or from $200/year Managed Hosting. Higher quotes itemize their actual allocations. The $120 existing-site offer also needs an agreed integration/hosting split. It is intended mainly for an already-built, ready-to-deploy static site; its Static Hosting renews at $100/year with no content changes included. Applications with server runtimes, databases, accounts or private data need a custom, potentially higher hosting and renewal quote. Domain fees, paid outside services and applicable taxes are listed separately.
Deposits and build cancellation
Static Starter has a $25 deposit after the free discussion and agreed scope. Business has a 50% deposit on the agreed setup or first-year bundle quote (at the starting prices, $150 or $225). Deposits count toward the total; they are not automatically earned or described as nonrefundable.
Cancel an unfinished project by emailing support@originlith.com. We stop further work and give a breakdown of agreed work already completed and preapproved outside costs that cannot be recovered. The quote sets any milestones or allocation used to value completed work; no undisclosed hourly rate or cancellation penalty is added. We refund the unearned balance and any unstarted hosting allocation. If no paid work or approved outside cost has been incurred, we return the full payment. Additional agreed work can only be charged within the accepted quote and approved additions.
Completed, accepted work and delivered service are earned charges. If a delivered item fails the agreed scope, we first discuss a practical repair or replacement. If we cannot deliver the agreed item or a reasonable repair, we offer a fair refund for the undelivered part; this is separate from a customer choosing to cancel a working, accepted site.
Delivery and customer rights
We agree on delivery timing before payment. For a consumer transaction covered by the Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act, the statutory fallback is 30 days after payment if no specific delivery time has been represented. If we cannot deliver within the represented time or that fallback, we will offer, within the applicable delivery period, either a specific revised date for you to accept or cancellation with a full refund of all previous payments for that agreement. We make that full refund within ten business days after receiving your written cancellation.
Where a statutory cooling-off or other cancellation right applies, it takes priority over earned-work deductions, third-party cost exclusions, hosting refund calculations and normal refund-processing terms. Required direct-solicitation cancellation notices are provided with the purchase documents when applicable. This policy does not limit those rights.
Monthly hosting
Hosting begins at launch. Monthly plans are billed in advance and renew monthly only after the customer explicitly agrees to recurring billing. The quote states the plan, amount, next billing date and cancellation method. Email support@originlith.com before the next billing time to stop that bill; a request received in time counts even if processed later. We confirm the cancellation and service-end date within two business days. No phone call, retention meeting or cancellation fee is required. Any later charge made in error is refunded. Service normally continues to the end of the paid month; there is no routine partial-month refund for a voluntary cancellation.
Annual hosting and renewals
Annual hosting is prepaid for 12 months from launch or the agreed renewal date. Choose manual renewal or optional automatic renewal. Manual renewal is the default unless you expressly opt in to automatic renewal at billing setup. With manual renewal, we send the price and expiry date and ask whether you want to renew; no payment is taken without your approval. If not renewed, service ends at the stated expiry date, subject to any agreed handoff.
Automatic renewal keeps the agreed hosting plan running for another 12 months and charges the payment method you authorize on the disclosed renewal date. Before collecting billing details, we clearly show the recurring plan, total renewal amount including applicable taxes, billing frequency, renewal date, and how to cancel. Your separate opt-in is never preselected. A general inquiry, acceptance of a build quote, silence, or a request for information does not authorize recurring charges. We email confirmation of your choice and terms, and keep a record of your consent. You can choose either renewal option without changing the advertised hosting price.
For annual plans, we email a clear renewal notice 45 days before renewal, plus a reminder 7 days before. The notice includes the renewal date, total amount to be charged, whether renewal is manual or automatic, and simple cancellation instructions. First-year build bundles renew at the hosting-only price agreed in your quote; the build is not charged again. If we miss the required advance notice or cannot confirm valid authorization, we request manual approval instead of charging automatically. A late opt-in that does not leave enough time for the advance notice applies to a future eligible renewal; the upcoming renewal is handled manually.
Turn off automatic renewal or cancel the next renewal by emailing support@originlith.com before the next billing time, or through your billing portal when one is provided. A timely request counts even if processed later. We confirm the change within two business days, with no phone call or cancellation fee. Turning off automatic renewal leaves hosting active for the remainder of the paid period. Any later charge made in error is refunded.
A price increase beyond the renewal price you already accepted requires your express approval before we charge it. We send proposed increases at least 45 days before the annual renewal. If you do not accept, we switch that renewal to manual approval and explain the price and service-end date; we do not treat no reply as consent to a higher charge. Any mandatory customer rights or notice requirements still apply.
An annual customer can keep service through the paid period or request an earlier end. On an early end, we refund unused whole hosting months, measured from the agreed service-end date, using the actual prepaid hosting amount divided by 12. The current part-month and past months are used; no retroactive monthly repricing or cancellation fee applies. At the $150 Starter bundle, the hosting allocation is $50, so six unused whole months return $25. At the $450 Business bundle, it is $150, so six unused whole months return $75. The build allocation is reviewed under the build policy above. Separately purchased annual plans use their actual annual hosting charge, not a bundle allocation. A cancellation before hosting starts returns its full allocation.
Refund process and service problems
We send a written calculation within five business days and initiate an approved refund within ten business days after cancellation or agreement of the remedy. Payment providers may take longer to post the credit. We do not deduct our payment-processing costs from these refunds. Only previously approved, committed third-party costs are excluded; recoverable amounts are returned. If we cannot provide paid hosting, we discuss restoration or handoff and refund the unprovided hosting period, including unused prepaid hosting. Nothing in this policy removes a remedy the customer has by law.
Changes and support
Static Hosting includes no content changes. Managed Hosting includes up to five minor changes per site each month. A minor change usually updates text, images, links or supplied documents on existing pages. We review requests case by case, without rigid minute limits, and confirm what counts as one change and whether it is included before starting. We can group related small edits when sensible. New pages, redesigns and new features receive a separate estimate. Unused allowances do not roll over. Occasional exceptions on the two lower tiers may or may not carry a one-time fee; any charge needs approval first. Website Care offers more frequent changes at an agreed scope and price, without a blanket unlimited-work promise.
Email support@originlith.com. We acknowledge requests within two business days. Business days are Monday-Friday, excluding public holidays identified in the written quote; the quote also states the scheduling timezone. An acknowledgement is not a completion promise: after review we agree on an expected turnaround based on the work, urgency, dependencies and workload. Hosting outages and access problems are prioritized on a best-effort basis. There is no staffed 24/7 help desk or guaranteed immediate response.
A 14-day bug-fix window begins at launch or agreed final handoff for defects within the delivered scope. Those fixes do not use monthly content-change allowances. New content, new features and unrelated third-party changes are separate. Report other issues too; we review them fairly and explain the options before charging. Hosting obligations and applicable customer rights do not simply end when the initial bug-fix window closes.
Ownership, handoff and service end
The domain stays in the customer's name, and paid-for public-site source files remain theirs. Standard export of those files is included. Business Website requires a managed plan while OriginLith operates it, but cancelling does not remove ownership of paid-for files or require buying the site again. We agree an orderly service-end date; hosting, forms and any private features may stop at that date. Moving the site, rebuilding hosted features, data exports and outside services are separately scoped before any paid work.
A copy of paid-for public-site files is available on request for 30 days after service ends. This is not continued live hosting or a promise of indefinite backup storage. Private-data export, deletion and backup retention are agreed for the project before data is collected; they are not covered by a generic public-file handoff. We verify account ownership before giving access or transferring credentials.
